Meet The Team

The Community Resilience Team works with individuals, small or large voluntary organisations and communities to identify and build on already existing strengths and skills within neighbourhoods. We work across all 18 wards in the city and our aim is to give people greater influence and control over what happens in their communities and the area that they live in.

We can support by:

  • Offering guidance and support to help you set up a group
  • Give advice to organisations to help them develop and grow to make them more sustainable
  • Information on accessing funding / support to write funding bids
  • Help finding venues
  • Supporting the set up and maintenance of stake holder groups within the community
  • Advertise volunteering opportunities
  • Share Best Practice within the voluntary sector
  • Promote the work that you do on our social media and web page

We are here to support local people to take action within their communities for matters that are important to them. We work closely with other agencies across the city including housing associations, public health and other council services, all of whom are keen to support the development of community groups and projects.

  • Share Dear Coventry Resilient Team, We are the Church of Pentecost -UK Coventry branch. We are looking to set up a clothing and food bank to aid those in need in this crisis. We will render the garments from our location at Coventry Foleshill Hill road. Donations will primarily come from members of our church and community in Warwickshire. To ensure we have fully operational banks, we need to know the following: What steps and processes do we need to do ? Please direct us in who to send out the message to various charities and vulnerable groups? Other steps or requirements ? We look to start this in October and operate from our premises once a week as a start. Dave at Rose asked about 3 years ago

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for your question. We have circulated this news within our networks and through our Community Messengers.

We are encouraging all Community venues/ groups/ organisations to

    • Order Free LFT Kits before the 31st March for your community venue, group or organisation;
      • The government announced that the provision of universally free COVID-19 tests will end from 1 April. This includes both asymptomatic lateral flow (LFT) tests and symptomatic PCR tests.  As a result of these changes, the Council are currently decommissioning the lateral flow testing services which have operated since December 2019.  As part of this process, we are required to distribute any remaining stocks of testing kits by the 31st March 2022.
      • The council would like to aim to distribute the remaining kits that are left between now and the deadline.  Test kits can be ordered using an on-line form via our CCC website - https://myaccount.coventry.gov.uk/service/COVID_19_Home_testing_supplies.  Alternatively, email LFT@coventry.gov.uk for more details.
      • Whilst testing will continue in some high risk sectors such as care and health and for a cohort of vulnerable people, we do not know any details yet on how this free testing provision will be delivered.  We also have no information about which vulnerable groups may be eligible to access the free tests. With this in mind, we would encourage services who work with vulnerable cohorts to have a supply of test kits available for use when case rates are rising and/or in outbreak situations to enable them to continue to deliver services effectively and safely.  The Council has a limited supply of kits available so this is a small window of opportunity.

If you need any help with ordering tests please get back in touch

    Best Wishes,

    Community Resilience Team
