Coventry’s “SEND Local Offer” shows what is available in the local area to support children and young people (0-25yrs) with special educational needs and disabilities.
As well as identifying what is already available across education, health and social care, it is also there to point out any improvements needed or gaps in provision.
A good Local Offer relies on the participation of children, young people and their parents/carers.
We want to give you the opportunity to tell us what you think and ask any questions that you have. This will help us to identify the sort of provision in Coventry which will benefit our children and young people the most.
Have you signed up to the half termly “In Partnership” e-bulletin from the SEND Information advice and Support Service? This provides information about SEND both in Coventry, including upcoming events and changes to services, and national stories.
You can sign up through the City Council website, just select “Coventry SEND news” under the Children and families section.
Surveys
Below are a number of surveys to tell us how you feel about provision in Coventry. They are there to help us make sure our offer to children and young people with SEND remains of the highest quality.
All responses can be anonymous, although we encourage you to be open in your feedback and include your details where possible.

Coventry SEND Local Offer, in conjunction with SEND Information Advice and Support Service, are hoping to offer an event (scheduled for 4th November 2022) to provide information to young people and their families about the current offer around supporting young people with special educational needs in Coventry. It will focus on those young people between the ages of 14-25 and preparing them for adulthood.
Following previous events on this topic, we would like to make the event as relevant to you as possible - therefore, we would welcome your input into the sorts of information you would like to find out about. Each area of focus would then have a specific timeslot on the day, meaning that you only have to attend the topics that are relevant to you or your young person.
The poll will close on Friday 9th September - thanks for your contribution!
Have you been through an Education Health and Care Needs
Assessment for a child or young person?
The Statutory Assessment and Review Team (START) are keen to
hear your feedback on how you found the process. Are there things that could have
improved the experience?
There are 10 questions, which should take no longer than 10
minutes to complete.
In your educational setting you/your child may be supported
by a My Support Plan. If you have used a My Support Plan, this short survey
will help us to evaluate your experience and make sure it is an effective way
to meet your/your child’s SEN.
There are 8 short questions and it should take no longer
than 5 minutes to complete.
As a result of how our normal ways of working have changed, for most of us this means that we are spending more time working from schools/settings/home rather than visiting our office base at Limbrick Wood, this blended approach has bought benefits, such as a reduction in the time we spend commuting, as well as challenges.
To help us plan ahead we want to gather your views about how we can meet need and improve working arrangements and access to resources. Therefore we have compiled this short survey to identify how much office touch-down and collaborative working space, as well as access to resources you will require to enable you to effectively carry out your role from September 2021.
So that we can do this collaboratively, I would be grateful if you could complete this short survey, which should take a few minutes, by Friday 25 June 2021.
Thankyou for attending the Local Offer event "Preparing for Adulthood: Transitions" on 12th October. We hope it was useful in thinking about the future for your young person. Please answer the short questionnaire so we can ensure that similar events are useful for you/young people.
