December 2025 - Support for your Community
TB Toolkit
As trusted community organisations, we would like to request your support to reduce the number of people told they have TB in Coventry which is higher than many other similar cities. TB, if found in the lungs or throat is infectious and 4 in every 10 Coventry residents told they had infectious TB in 2022/23 did not visit their GP at an early stage and started treatment quite late. This meant that the likelihood of them becoming very ill and passing on the infection to friends, family, and social networks such as work colleagues increased.
We are aware that community organisations have a deep understanding of their community and hold a position of trust thus we would like to share a TB raising awareness toolkit with you and ask that you think about how you could use the tools to raise awareness of TB symptoms. We would hope that this means people would notice the symptoms early, visit their GP and if they had TB start treatment quicker. Thus, supporting your community to remain healthy.
The toolkit includes links to several multilingual TB raising awareness tools such as TB symptom posters and animations. You can access the TB toolkit by requesting a copy from Coventry City Councils Health Protection team at hpteam@coventry.gov.uk(External link).
Thank you in advance for your support for this important piece of work.
