Henley Green Enhanced Resource Provision (ERP) Consultation Information

Under Section 14 of the Education Act 1996, Coventry City Council has a statutory duty to ensure sufficient school places and fair, appropriate access to education for all. It is the Council’s role to plan, commission and organise school places in a way that raises standards, manages supply and demand and creates a diverse infrastructure.

To make best use of education facilities and increase inclusion for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, Coventry City Council are developing schemes to include SEND facilities within mainstream schools and expand capacity.

The council have created a survey to gather your views on the proposed ERP at Henley Green Primary School which provides specialist education towards a broad spectrum of need. This proposed project will help the Local Authority to meet the rising demand for specialist places in the city. The proposed ERP will include a sensory, intervention area, one class base centre, access to a suitable external environment for exploration, learning and play. The ERP will provide for 10 children who have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCPs), in order to support children with significant cognitive and language delay.

As part of the process being undertaken for this work, this consultation has been developed to ensure the council carry out open and fair communications with stakeholders. The Local Authority has a statutory duty to consult under the Governments guidelines for changes to maintained schools. The information that you share as part of this consultation will be fed back and taken into consideration for this project.

Please take a look at our leaflet (which can be found under 'documents' on the right side of the screen) which gives an overview of the proposed ERP at Henley Green Primary School.

The closing date for responses is 4th February 2026.
