Budget Consultation 2024/25

We want to give everyone the opportunity to tell us what you think about our spending proposals for 2024/25

Reductions of more than £100m in our funding coupled with unprecedented rises in inflationary pressures and demand for services – 79% of our budget is now spent on social care and homelessness, up from 40% in 2010, this means we know we cannot do everything we would like to. However, we can make sure that we give everyone the opportunity to have a say in how we build our budget for the next financial year of 2024/25.

We need to make informed decisions about where to focus our spending to deliver the services that you want us to get right.

It is only by listening to our residents and businesses that we can understand your priorities and ensure we are able to deliver these efficiently and effectively.

Please visit  https://letstalk.coventry.gov.uk/budget24-25 to find out more about our proposals and give us your views by filling in our short survey or attending a face to face/online workshop.

If you’d like any further information or have any questions, please contact us at budgetsetting@coventry.gov.uk(External link)

Focus Group Participants Wanted

Coventry City Council are having a Local Government Association (LGA) Peer Challenge. We want to invite you to take part in a focus group. This will be run by a small, independent panel of professionals from other local authorities, who are coming in to review the Council and how it works.

The purpose of the Peer Challenge is to help us identify “what are we doing well at and how can we do better?”

The LGA Peer Team are keen to meet residents, and to hear your views on how well the council is delivering its services, engaging with the community, and planning for the future.

The focus group will be an informal and confidential discussion with the LGA Peer Team. This is a great opportunity to share your honest feedback and suggestions on how the council are making a difference and where we can improve.

If you are interested in taking part in the focus group, which will be held on Tuesday 16 January 2024, 9am to 10:30am, Council House

Please complete this Peer Challenge expression of interest form.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 5 January 2024. Please note places are limited.

Tell us about your area

We would like to gain local knowledge about what’s happening within our communities, we want to understand the assets and the needs in local areas.

The information you share with us will be used to help inform the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA), and will provide a snapshot of what it is like to live in an area and also look at the current and future health and care needs of local communities.

We would like to know:

What things do you like about where you live?

If you could do anything to improve your area what would it be?

What could be done to make this happen?
