The Council is conducting a needs assessment looking at the provision of healthy lifestyle services in Coventry, including support with weight management, smoking cessation, reducing alcohol consumption, diet changes and increasing physical activity. As part of this we are running a public survey to understand the needs of Coventry residents. We would appreciate support in publicising it. Share your views and share with others to complete.

The survey is to capture residents’ views on this topic. It is open to anyone over the age of 18 and should take about 10 minutes to complete. You can enter a prize draw to win a £30 shopping voucher for taking part.

The deadline for completion is 30th May.

The survey is now live: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/healthy_lifestyles(External link)

Martha’s Rule

Coventry University researchers want to better understand what people think about implementing Martha’s Rule in the NHS.

What is Martha’s Rule? The NHS is implementing patient/family activated escalation systems, known as Martha’s Rule, giving patients and their loved ones 24-hour access to a rapid review from an independent critical care team if they are worried about their or a family member’s condition whilst they are in hospital.

How can you help? We would like to connect with local organisations for those from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. We think communities have important things to say about what can make Martha’s Rule accessible to everyone.

Who are we? We are researchers from Coventry University who are interested in access to healthcare.
