Different services matter more to different people, whether it’s better roads, improvements to parks or support for carers, and we want to understand the things that are most important to you.

Councils across the country are battling rising prices and increasing demands on their services, especially affecting social care and homelessness resulting in less money that we can use for other services.

This is set against a backdrop of significant reductions in core funding.

In Coventry’s case, over the last 14 years (since 2010), the Council’s real term spending power has fallen by more than £100m on average every year. This adds to the pressure on the 700 services we deliver every year. More about this is explained in the leaflet and video attached highlighting the challenges we face.

At the same time, as a Council, we know that we cannot do everything we would really like to, but we can make sure that we give everyone the opportunity to have a say in how we build our budget for 2025 and 2026.

That’s why we want to get your views, so that when we are planning our budget in future months that this is based on informed decisions, including feedback from you, about where to focus our spending.

To do this we want to hear from local people about their views and values. We would like to hear your views about:

• the things that concern you and your family; and

• where we should focus resources as we work to improve lives across our city.

The survey below does not replace our formal consultation, this will still take place when we have more information about the funding we are awarded.

We will be using the information you provide to help us understand from Coventry residents and businesses, their views and ensure they are embedded into our future financial plans.

So, please take a few minutes to respond to us, we would love to hear from you.

The deadline for responses is Wednesday 6 November.
