We previously consulted on plans to introduce a segregated cycleway on Foleshill Road. You told us that the parking issues are more of a concern.

We have listened to your feedback and have developed a package of measures to help improve parking in the area. Alongside new parking we have plans to better protect the pavements from illegal parking – making them safer for everyone as well as some pedestrian crossing improvements.

As well as providing new parking at Edgwick Park we are also looking at other sites to see if we can further increase the number of new parking spaces. If we are unable to develop any further sites for parking, there will be other new elements that we can introduce in the area, including potential laybys and parking bays, but we will back in touch about these when we know more.

We want to know what you think about the plans, please tell us by completing the survey. You can do this by clicking the Take Survey button at the bottom of the page. The survey will be open until Friday 27 March.

The plans, shown on the map below, include:

New parking – Edgwick Park

• A short stay car park on the area in front of Edgwick Park with approximately 28 spaces

• Measures to prevent parking on the pavement

• Planting areas

• Any trees lost as part of the scheme will be replaced elsewhere in the park

Improvements to Foleshill Road

• New laybys for parking

• Pavement resurfacing

• Planters and bollards to prevent pavement parking

• Improving road markings

Holmsdale Road and Webster Street

• One way system on Holsmdale Road and Webster Street – we’d like you to tell us which direction you would like this to be

• Two way will remain near the junction with Foleshill Road to access the Webster Road and Holmsdale Road car parks

• Traffic calming – for example speed cushions

• Loading bay at Holmsdale Road and Foleshill Road junction for deliveries

• Car park wall already repaired meaning an additional 16 parking spaces

• Opportunity for resident parking scheme

Blackwell Road parking and junction improvements

• New limited time waiting bays

• Bollards close to numbers 44 and 131

Leicester Causeway and Springfield Road crossings

• New zebra crossing near the Gurdwara Guru Nanak Parkash

• New zebra crossing on Springfield Road between numbers 2 and 8

Broad Street car parking and crossings

• We would like to add some additional parking in the area, crossings and traffic calming measures
