Budget Consultation 2020/2021

Coventry City Council budget proposals

The Council wants to hear from local people, community groups and other organisations and businesses about the Council’s proposed budget plans for 2020/21.

Read the report setting out the funding proposals

The report lists proposals that include extra grant funding for social care and a number of savings options in order to balance the budget for the financial year April 2020 until March 2021.

The Council must identify savings because it faces a budget deficit of £17m.

The year after next the Council could face an even bigger deficit of nearly £30m.

Coventry’s situation is not unlike those experienced by other local authorities.

All local authorities are required by law to set out a balanced budget.

We would welcome your comments on any of the proposals stated in the pre-budget plan. You can do this by filling in the online form below.

The consultation period ends on at Midnight on Wednesday 15 January 2020.
